I don't know if it's a good idea, but that's the best non-modern ST focus evar!

Worst case, you can buy it, do the clutch, drive it until you're bored, then sell it as a fully functional car. If you don't let them bend you over on the purchase price and you're able to do the clutch yourself, you probably won't lose any money on it... you might even make a buck!

750, that's CHEAP, although foci are more prevalant over there.
But I'd imagine you could regain your 750 selling bits, so it sound very worth while if the clutch is truly the only issue.

They are really rare, I think its like a few thousand in the UK.
I dont know why, but im really drawn to an estate rather than a 5 door. I carry lots of shit on holiday, and like bikes and stuff, which all go in the hatch. But fast estates are cool.

Is it located close to you? If you can figure out if it's actually a good car that has been kept up, with the exception of the clutch, I don't see why you shouldn't. That's assuming you can actually fix that clutch yourself.

I only found out when i looked for an estate conversion with a normal st170. my mind was blown!!

Ive done a clutch on my old 306 before, and theres several guides on how to do it. It does seem like a faff, but not impossible.
Its about 3 hours away, So I could go and look without too much difficulty.

If the rest of the car is reasonably clean it could be a good flip. Clutch packs cant be much more than £100 so you'll have less than £1000 in a car possibly worth around £1500-2000. Would need heavy inspection though to make sure it hasnt been thrashed.

I'm the little red guy on your shoulder...
do it
do it now

I like 'em. Try and get the price down a bit, £750 seems steep for something with a clutch problem, but yeah, worth going for.

WHAT?!? I never knew the ST170 pack was available for the Estate. If only I had the money to swap the SVT gear to a wagon. :(

Thats the only reason I found out about it. I was doing an imaginary conversion hypothetically, and when googling it found it was already a thing :D

do you expect oppo to talk you _out_ of this?

Ha yeah you make a very good point. I have however convinced myself not too.
Instead im going to look at a mint condition st170 5 door hatchback next week. :D
